The Mets completed their deadline selloff with one final deal before the deadline, trading reliever Dominic Leone to the Angels in exchange for Double-A infielder Jeremiah Jackson.

Leone went 1-3, 4.40 with 33 strikeouts and 11 walks in 30.2 innings while primarily pitching in low-leverage relief for the Mets this season. Jackson ranked as the Angels No. 18 prospect. He was drafted under current Mets general manager Billy Eppler.

Age: 23

A second-round pick in 2018, Jackson is a good athlete with huge power but struggles badly to make contact. He takes massive hacks, struggling to make contact. He has a very aggressive approach at the plate and is generally a mistake hitter who can crush fastballs over the plate with his fast, uphill swing. Jackson is an above-average runner with above-average arm strength who can adequately play center field, shortstop and third base. He has an outside chance to be a utilityman who plays multiple positions and provides occasional power off the bench.

Dominic Leone, RHP
Age: 31

Leone is an accomplished, hard-throwing reliever with a mid-90s fastball, low-90s cutter and mid-80s slider. He is significantly more effective against righthanded hitters (.232/.269/.449) than lefties (.262/.367/.500) and is best in low-leverage situations. He’ll slide into a middle relief role for the Angels and bolster a relief corps that has largely struggled outside of Matt Moore and Carlos Estevez at the end of the games.
